Tan Lu San

Bird Photographer

Tan Lu San is a professional photographer at Nanyang Technological University who channels his passion for wildlife photography into managing his ADHD. Nature provides him a calming escape from the sensory overload of urban life, fostering his creativity. Inspired by wildlife documentaries, Lu San’s journey began with a fascination for the migratory Common Kingfisher in Singapore.

He specializes in capturing birds, focusing on composition, lighting, and behavior to showcase even common species artistically. Rather than pursuing rare wildlife, he believes every creature presents unique photographic opportunities. Through his work, Lu San aims to raise awareness of local wildlife and encourage appreciation for Singapore’s often-overlooked natural beauty.
